Meet Jo Crawford, AAWS Founder & Director

Jo is a third generation Arizonan. She has a zest for life and getting people ignited about adventures on the water and breaking barriers. She is responsible for providing dynamic management and growth of AAWS operations. Her leadership includes the strategic planning and implementation that fulfills its mission and vision by establishing and maintaining close relationships with corporate, nonprofit, professional, civic, governmental and foundation entities.

Jo brings extensive experience leading adaptive watersports programs in Arizona. She previously operated the Day on the Lake program at Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center for 22 years. “I believe that everyone has the right to live an active life. We have helped overcome so many of the barriers that keep people from recreating and enjoying time on the water with their family and friends. I believe God has called AAWS to get more people with amazing abilities out on the water and experiencing adventures” stated Crawford.

Crawford holds a Master of Science degree in Leadership from Grand Canyon University as well as a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Leisure Services with an emphasis in Therapeutics from Northern Arizona University.
